B132

The oil pressure indicator uses a variable resistor to control the signal voltage to the BCM. The BCM - supplies voltage on circuit 31 to the sensor. When the engine is off (low oil pressure) the sensor resistance is low. When the engine is running (oil pressure high) the sensor resistance is high. The signal voltage will vary between 5 volts (open circuit) and 0 volts (short circuit). This code will set if the engine is running and the signal voltage indicates greater than 85 psi (100%).
1. BCM data value BD7l displays oil pressure. With the engine not running the parameter should read below 10.
2. This will check for correct oil pressure sensor calibration and determine if there is a mechanical problem.
3. By applying a ground to various points in the circuit, an open can be isolated by watching the parameter display change to a short circuit reading.

Note on Intermittents
If an intermittent code B132 is being set, manipulate the related wiring while observing BCM data value BD71. If the failure is induced, the reading will jump from 0 to a normal oil pressure reading with the engine off.
