Compressor and/or Mounting Brackets

A/C COMPRESSOR

A/C SERVICE PROCEDURES

^ Some service procedures give removal procedures only. Discharge the refrigerant system, when necessary. To reinstall, reverse the removal procedure using new neoprene lubricated 0-ring seals and evacuate and charge the refrigerant system, when necessary.

COMPRESSOR AND MOUNTING BRACKETS

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Serpentine belt.
2. Raise/lower vehicle.
3. Valance panel.

Compressor Splash Shields:




4. Two compressor splash shield screws (1).
5. Three engine splash shield retainers (3) and screw (5).

Compressor Hose Assembly Retention:




6. One compressor manifold block fitting bolt (2), relocate hose block fitting away from compressor.

Compressor Mounting:




7. One compressor rear brace bolt (11) to engine mount.
8. One compressor front brace bolt (1) to air injection pump, and loosen air injection pump brace bolt (2) and move brace away from compressor.
9. Electrical connector at compressor.
10. Two compressor rear bracket bolts (7).
11. Two compressor front bracket bolts (3).
12. Compressor assembly.
13. Two compressor rear bracket screws (4), using fixture 3-33026 to hold compressor.

TIGHTEN
^ Compressor manifold block fitting bolt (2), 33 Nm.
^ Compressor brace bolts (11), (1), and (2), 34 Nm.
^ Compressor bracket bolts (7), 30 Nm (3), 45 Nm and (4), 34 Nm.

NOTICE: All leaks must be repaired. Under no circumstances should compressor be operated when a leak exists. Loss of refrigerant prevents oil return to compressor and operating compressor may damage it.
