A-2 Data Circuit Problem
This combination of codes indicates that circuit 928 has been shorted to voltage or to ground. Chart A-2 outlines a systematic method to determine which branch of the circuit caused the codes to set.
Notes on Trouble Tree
1. All the listed codes set current indicates that the condition is now present and it is not an intermittent.
2. Removing and reinstalling fuses L1, L2, and L3 assures that all OSM's are reset to the lights off status. Disconnecting the dash-to-forward lamp harness connector (DA-FL) will remove the short and allow normal operation of the right rear tail lamps only if the short is within the forward lamp harness.
3. If the right rear tail-lamps operate with the DA-FL and the DA-left tail lamp jumper removed then the short is in the left tail jumper, or in circuit 928G or 928H.
4. The short must exist between the DA-FL connector and the DA-tail jumper, on the Body Control Module (BCM) side of the data circuit.
5. Reconnecting the DA-FL connector will determine if 928G and 928H are suspect for the short.
NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS
If all the noted codes are set history codes, then isolation of the short becomes more difficult. Inspect harnesses and connectors for shorts to ground or voltage.
