SUBJECT: IMPROPER ROW IDENTIFICATION OF 32-WAY FEMALE MICROPACK CONNECTOR

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 CIMARRONS, DE VILLES, FLEETWOODS, ELDORADOS, SEVILLES, AND ALLANTES

During April, 1987 some 32-way female micropack connectors were produced with the row identification letters "C" and "D" reversed. The affected connectors are black or brown in color.

Some of these connectors may have been used for the ECM on all affected models and the BCM for the Eldorado, Seville, and Allante. Service parts may also be affected.

FIGURE 1 - PROPER ROW IDENTIFICATION:

The connector will work properly, but could cause confusion if electrical troubleshooting is necessary. Figure 1 shows a properly identified connector. All Service Manual terminal call-outs use the row identification as shown in Figure 1. Row "D" should be on the same side of the connector as the "PED" logo.
