SUBJECT: RADIO WILL NOT TUNE PAST 104 FM
MODELS AFFECTED: 1987-1988 ALLANTES
Some 1987-1988 Allante radios may not tune past 104 FM manually or when using seek/scan. This may be due to a short to ground on the radio export strap, circuit 945, which will keep the radio in the European mode. If the radio is in European mode, "50 mHz" will be indicated in the top right corner of the radio display.
If a vehicle exhibits this condition back out circuit 945, purple wire, from cavity 1 in the radio control head connector. The radio should return to the standard American mode and allow tuning past 104 FM. Leave the wire out of the connector and tape it to the harness to prevent a rattle in the dash.
