SUBJECT: UNWANTED HORN OPERATION, AN OVER SENSITIVE HORN PAD OR INOPERATIVE HORNS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 ALLANTE

Some 1987 Allantes built before VIN breakpoint 100602 may experience unwanted horn operation or an over sensitive horn pad possibly leading to inoperative horns. If unwanted horn operation or an over sensitive horn pad is experienced, or diagnosis of inoperative horns leads to horn replacement, replace the horn pad with part number 1637638 (saddle tan) or part number 1637639 (maroon).

To remove the horn pad, lift the horn pad off the steering wheel and disconnect the horn lead and the ground lead from the steering wheel.
