SUBJECT: VERTICAL MOTION OF SEAT - "ROCKING" ADJUSTER
MODELS AFFECTED: 1987-1988 ALLANTES
Some 1987 and 1988 Allantes built before 1988 VIN breakpoint 102078 may experience a condition of seat rocking on the adjuster. This condition may be caused by more than normal vertical movement of adjuster components.
To repair this condition, replace the seat adjuster assembly, complete with motors, with new reinforced adjusters, P/N 1648664 (passenger) and 1648665 (driver). Follow the procedures outlined in Section 10-9 of the Allante Service Information Manual for seat assembly and seat track replacement.
For warranty purposes use Labor Operation C6040 at .7 hour for the passenger seat or C6041 at .7 hour for the driver seat with trouble code 27 - loose.
