Disassembly/Assembly

1. Remove strut as outlined under ``Strut Assembly, Replace'' procedure.
2. Mount strut in compressor tool J-34013 and holding fixture J-3289-20.
3. Rotate compressor forcing screw until spring compresses slightly.
4. Hold damper shaft from rotating and remove nut from top of strut assembly.
5. Use tool J-34013-30 to guide damper shaft from assembly.
6. Loosen compressor forcing screw while guiding damper shaft from assembly. Continue to loosen nut until strut damper and spring can be removed.
7. Reverse procedure to assemble. When assembling spring, the flat on upper spring seat must face outward 90 degrees from centerline of vehicle or when mounted in the strut compressor, the seat faces in the same direction as the steering knuckle mounting flange.
