SUBJECT: New Oil Filter Assembly

Oil filter part number 8646902 went into production as of April, 1987.

This filter can be used on all models.

It has baffles to prevent a loss of prime; for instance, after coastdown to approximately 5 to 10 mph, the transmission falls out of gear on re-acceleration.

This is caused by the fluid shifting to one side of the pan, which may momentarily prevent the filter from picking up fluid.
