Window Regulator Tape Replacement

Tape Drive Regulator Service Parts:

Remove or Disconnect
1. Regulator from door.
2. Wire harness to regulator motor.
3. Window switch to wire harness.
4. Tape from tabs on regulator using a thin flat-bladed screwdriver
5. Rivet installed through tape and regulator using a 4.8 mm (3/16") drill bit - 6CH23-33 styles.
6. Tape from regulator by pressing window switch.


Install or Connect
1. Tape to regulator following listed steps:

^ Cut service tape to length needed.

^ Install guide and block assembly onto tape, making sure that tabs on guide and block assembly are into last three holes at end of tape.

^ Place tape in regulator channel and feed tape through channel until it is in contact with gear of regulator motor.

^ Run motor to complete installation of tape.

^ Place last four holes of tape on tabs of regulator.

^ Remove wire harness from regulator motor.

^ Remove wire harness from window switch.

2. Drill 4.8 mm (3/16") hole through service tape in line with hole in regulator on 6CH23-33 styles. Install a 3/16"x3/8" rivet through tape and regulator.
3. Regulator to door inner panel.
