Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

Evaporator Removal:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Partially drain coolant.
2. Cross tower support brace.
3. Heater core inlet and outlet coolant hoses.
4. Module noise barrier cover retaining screws (2) and (3) and two heat shield retaining screws and harness tie strap.
5. High side temperature sensor connector, low side temperature sensor connector, low pressure switch connector and harness bracket and clips.
6. Evaporator block fitting bolt (5) from evaporator.
7. Module noise barrier cover screws (7): three upper, three lower and two right hand side.
8. Right hand small section of module noise barrier cover.
9. Two module cover screws (8) right hand side.
10. Module cover (6) with sound barrier and seal (4).
11. Evaporator core bracket screw and evaporator core.

Reverse procedure to install.
Tighten Evaporator block fitting bolt (5), 17 Nm (13 lbs ft).
Module cover retaining bolts (4) 3 Nm (2 lbs ft).
