Air Compressor, Replace

ELC Compressor / Air Tube Routing / Rear Suspension Crossmember Assembly:













REMOVAL
1. Raise car on frame contact hoist.
2. Disconnect compressor harness connector and dryer air tube.
3. Remove air inlet filter from underbody mounting.
4. Remove the two compressor bracket mounting screws which attach bracket to suspension.
5. Remove compressor and bracket from car as an assembly. Compressor may be removed between forward edge of support and underbody.
6. Remove bracket from compressor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install bracket on compressor and tighten mounting screws to 4 Nm (35 in lbs).
2. Position compressor and bracket assembly in car and install bracket mounting screws on suspension. Tighten the bracket mounting screws to 15 Nm (11 ft lbs).
3. Install air inlet filter in underbody.
4. Connect compressor harness connector and dryer air tube.
5. Lower car.

CAUTION: Before driving vehicle, turn ignition on and wait approximately 45 seconds. This will permit the Electronic Level Control (ELC) system to execute the air replenishment cycle and ensure that the air adjustable struts are filled with at least residual pressure.
