Preliminary Checks

1. With throttle in hot idle position, check cruise servo and throttle linkage for minimum slack.
2. Inspect vacuum hoses for leaks, kinks or restrictions, repairing or replacing as necessary.
3. Visually inspect cruise control wire and ground connections.
4. If cruise On indicator or cruise control panel light do not light, check black (155) wire for open.
5. With cruise control engaged, if cruise On indicator does not light, check bulb. If bulb is good, replace cruise control switch.
6. If cruise ``Engaged'' indicator does not light, ground terminal D4 connector C1 of ECM. If indicator works, check ECM for terminal contact. If contact is good, replace ECM. When grounded, if indicator does not light, check bulb and wiring.
