1. Raise and support vehicle and place jackstands under cradle. Vehicle weight should not be placed on the control arms.
2. Remove wheel assembly.
3. Install drive axle boot protectors.
4. Remove nuts, washers, bushings and bolt securing stabilizer shaft to each control arm, Fig. 7.
5. Remove stabilizer bar mounting bolts, two bolts from each side, Fig. 8.
6. Disconnect tie rods from steering knuckles.
7. Remove exhaust pipe between exhaust manifold and catalytic converter. Remove intermediate pipe on diesel models.
8. On vehicles with V6-181 and V8-250 engines, remove air pipe to exhaust pipe bolt, if equipped.
9. Rotate right side strut assembly completely to the right.
10. Slide stabilizer bar to the right over the steering knuckle and pull downward on left side until stabilizer bar clears the cradle, Fig. 9.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
