FIGURE 1 - INTAKE MANIFOLD BOLT SIZE AND TORQUE SEQUENCE:
Some late production 1988 4.5L engines were built with an intake manifold different than earlier engines which requires service technician awareness for future service. 1988 engines built between engine unit numbers T10L324456 and T10L324632 require a 40 mm bolt in position #3 in Figure 1 rather than the 55 mm bolt normally required. Bolt torque sequence and final torque values remain the same for all engines, refer to Figure 1. 1989 model year engines will be built with a 55 mm bolt in this position.
