Input E.7.7 - Cruise Control Resume/Acceleration Circuit

ECM Input E.7.7:

DFI Cruise Control Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

The ECM cruise "Resume/Accel" switch is a normally open switch that provides a 12 volt "Resume/Accel" signal to the ECM on terminal B6 when depressed. When the cruise dash switch is in the "ON" position, the cruise dash switch provides 12 volts to the cruise steering column switch on pin E2, CKT 397. When the Resume/Accel button is depressed, the steering column switch pin E2 is connected to pin C, CKT 87, providing the ECM with a 12 volt Resume/Accel input on terminal B6.

NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:

To diagnose an intermittent Resume/Accel function, turn the cruise dash switch to "ON" and backprobe ECM B6 with a voltmeter to ground. B6 should show 12 volts with Resume/Accel depressed and 0 volts with Resume/Accel released. Cycle the switch while observing the meter, manipulate wiring and connectors.
