SUBJECT: REAR DOOR WINDOW OPENING REVEAL MOLDING


MODELS AFFECTED: 1989 SEDAN DE VILLES AND FLEETWOOD SEDANS


This bulletin affects 1989 Sedan DeVilles and Fleetwood Sedans built after breakpoint 287160. Rear door window reveal moldings from service stock (P/N's 20731428-RH and 20731429-LH) may not fit these vehicles properly. To repair this condition use the following procedure:

1. Inspect to see if an embossment "A" exists on the molding. Refer to Figure 1, "A".

2. Inspect the outer panel flange for the corresponding notch "B".

3. If the embossment "A" exists and there is no notch "B", then the flange on the door must be bent outboard in the area of the embossment to allow for loading. Refer to Figure 1, Sec X.
