E061

Diagnostic Chart.:

PCM Wiring:

DESCRIPTION:

Code E061 will set if the PCM/ECM output is high when it should be low, or low when it should be high.

TEST CONDITIONS:

1. Tested continuously.

FAILURE CONDITIONS:

1. Cruise vent solenoid commanded off but feedback is indicating the solenoid is on.
2. Cruise vent solenoid commanded on but feedback is indicating the solenoid is off.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Cruise control disabled.
2. No service telltale.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. Checks to see if fault is due to servo or circuit.

2. Check cruise control brake switch. The brake switch supplies power to the servo solenoid through the PCM/ECM. The switch can be tested by checking the voltage drop across the switch during output cycling.

NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:

If an intermittent code E061 is being set, manipulate the wiring and connectors while in the output function EO08 and listen for the solenoid to cycle, (or stop cycling). This will have to be done slowly as this function cycles the solenoid on and off every 3 seconds.
