E075
PCM Wiring:
DESCRIPTION:
This diagnostic test compares the vehicle speed to manifold pressure. There must be a corresponding change in MAP with a change in vehicle speed. The PCM/ECM will ignore the test if conditions for engine idle are present. This code sets when the vehicle speed changes 8 mph or more with a MAP reading that does not vary more than 2 kPa.
This code can be caused by an open, short to ground or short to voltage in CKT 400 and /or 401. An open or shorted sensor connector, engine to dash connector or PCM/ECM connector, or a defective sensor. This code will never set current since it is set by a VSS sensor value which changes faster than that can occur in a normally operating system. This code indicates an intermittent signal fault which could cause a driveability symptoms. Code E024 may not be set since it requires a vehicle speed of 0 for 3 seconds.
TEST CONDITIONS:
1. Codes E031, E032, and E034 not set.
2. Engine running.
3. Brakes not applied.
FAILURE CONDITIONS:
1. Vehicle speed change, 8 mph or more in a 1 second time period with a corresponding MAP change for 2 kPa or less.
ACTION TAKEN:
1. Code set, no SERVICE ENGINE SOON lamp.
NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:
This code can be easily set as a false code by running the vehicle in gear with the wheels off the ground.
Manipulate circuit 400 and 401 wiring and check affected wiring for its location especially if its around spark plug wires. Remove and reinstall the VSS and PCM/ECM connectors to ensure that they are latched or the connecting screw is properly secured. Code snapshot data can provide comparative information if code E075 data is available. If wiring and connectors check out OK substitute a known good VSS sensor and retest.
