PCM Wiring:
DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this diagnostic test is to detect an evaporative fuel canister that is saturated with fuel and causing a rich condition in the engine.
1. A rich fuel injection system can be caused by:
a. Leaking injector.
b. Faulty pressure regulator.
c. Restricted fuel return line.
Refer to Charts A-4 and A-5 to test these components.
2. Continuous canister purge can be caused by:
a. A leaking purge valve.
b. Purge solenoid, circuit or PCM.
TEST CONDITIONS:
1. Codes E014, E015, E016, E021, E022, E026, E027, E031, E032, and E034 all must be clear.
2. Throttle switch open.
3. In closed loop.
4. Throttle angle between 6° and 30°.
5. Coolant temperature above 82°C.
6. Canister has been at a purge duty cycle of 94% (purge enabled) at a throttle angle of 10° or greater for 10 minutes.
FAILURE CONDITIONS:
Block learn is at 104 or less for 25 seconds.
ACTION TAKEN:
1. PCM turns on "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" telltale.
2. Code E080 sets.
