TROUBLESHOOTING HINTSNote: For inoperative or continuously operating horn alarm, see Horn diagnosis. For No Crank" or No Start" condition, continue with Troubleshooting Hints below.
^ Try the following checks before doing the System Check.
1. Check the key pellet sensing contacts in the ignition Lock Cylinder by looking into the key opening. If the contacts are damaged, replace the Lock Cylinder.
2. Check the Fuse feeding the Battery Input of the PASS Key Decoder Module (see schematic for Fuse number).
3. Check the Fuse feeding the Ignition Input of the PASS Key Decoder Module (see schematic for Fuse number).
4. Check owner's ignition key using the J35628 Interrogator or equivalent. If the Key Code window shows "E", replace the owner's key.

SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS
Use the following table to determine the procedure to use.
Note: Enter diagnostics and check for ECM Code 58.
^ If code 58 is set and vehicle cranks, refer to Computer System diagnosis.
^ If code 58 is not set or if code 58 is set and vehicle does not crank continue with the System Diagnosis.
