Troubleshooting Hints
Note: For "No Crank" or "No Start" Condition, see Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems. For inoperative or continuously operating horn alarm, continue with Troubleshooting Hints below.
^ Try the following checks before doing the System Check.
1. Refer to Power Door Locks if Power Door Locks or Central Door Lock functions do not operate.
2. Check Fuse 15 by checking the operation of the Chime Module.
3. Check Fuse 25 by operating Overhead Reading Light.
4. Visually check Theft Deterrent Module In-Line Fuse.
5. If the Key-In-Ignition Warning is set off by both doors, replace the Diode Array Module (see schematic).
6. With the ignition off, check all the Door Jamb Switches by observing that the THEFT SYSTEM ARMED indicator flashes when each door is opened one at a time (Note: Close each door before opening another door). If the THEFT SYSTEM ARMED indicator does not flash when a specific door is opened, then check the suspect Door Jamb Switch and the wiring to the switch for opens.
7. If the exterior lights come on when the Horn Switch is operated check for a shorted diode between terminals F and C of the Diode Array Module.
