SUBJECT: WIND NOISE AT BASE OF SOFT TOP SAIL PANEL


MODELS AFFECTED: 1987-1991 ALLANTES


Some 1987-1991 Allantes may experience a condition of wind noise from the base of the soft top sail panel area and/or the soft top rear glass area. This may be caused by a gap between the soft top material and the boot well seal. To repair this condition install an auxiliary seal kit, P/N 3635369, using the foilowing service procedure:

1. Unlatch and raise rear bow to a vertical position.


NOTE: There are rightand left-hand seals supplied in the kit. The rear glass plugs as supplied are incorrectly marked as opposite sides. Refer to Figure 1 for identification markings. Trial fit the seals in place before applying adhesive.

2. Install the quarter seals using Loctite 401 adhesive or equivalent as shown in Figure 2.

3. Install the back glass lower corner seals using Loctite 401 adhesive as shown in Figure 3.


4. Close and latch rear bow.
