Exterior Lamps
Park LightsWhen the Park Lights button is pressed, data is sent to the Body Computer Module (BCM) from the Left Switch Pod for a Park Light request. The BCM then signals the Output Switch Modules through the Data Line to turn on the Park Lights. Turning on the Park Lights disables the Headlights and the Fog Lights. Turning on the Headlights or Fog Lights enables the Park Lights. Pressing the LIGHTS OFF button or Park Lights button will turn off the Park Lights.
Turn Signals
When the LH or RH Turn Signal is turned on, the BCM senses a LO at the Turn Signal Input (see schematic). The BCM then signals the OSM 's to operate the Turn Signal Lights through the Data Line. If the Brakes are operated, the Rear Turn Signals will override the Stop Light request.
Hazard Lights
When the Hazard button is pressed, data is sent to the BCM from the Left Switch Pod for a Hazard Light request. The BCM then signals the OSM 's to flash the Hazard Lights. Pressing the Hazard button again turns off the Hazard Lights.
Stop Lights
When the Brake Pedal is pressed, the Brake Switch closes and the BCM senses a HI at the Brake Switch Input. The BCM then signals the OSM's to turn on the Stop Lights and the High Mounted Stop Lights. When the Brake Pedal is released, the BCM senses a LO at the Brake Switch Input and signals the OSM 's to turn off the Stop Lights.
LH Tail Light Redundant Relay
With the Ignition Switch in RUN, if the BCM detects a failure in the lighting system or in the BCM when the Headlight Switch is turned on, the BCM grounds the LH Tall Light Redundant Relay Coil, which then applies battery voltage to the LH Tall Light.
The Ignition Switch also supplies ground to the LH Tail Light Redundant Relay and engages it whenever the Ignition Switch is in START.
