Interior Lamps

Courtesy Lights

When the Courtesy Lights switch is depressed, the Left Switch Pod sends a request for the Courtesy Lights to the Body Computer Module (BCM) through the Data Line. The BCM then sends a message through the Data Line to Output Switch Module (OSM) 5 to turn on the Lights. The OSM then supplies voltage to the Courtesy Lights.

Illuminated Entry

The Illuminated Entry system turns on all of the Courtesy, Warning, and Stowage Lights when either door is opened and the Twilight Photocell Indicates low ambient light. The Body Computer Module (BCM) receives an input from the Door Jamb Switches, which close when the door is open. The BCM then sends a message through the Data Line to Output Switch Module (OSM) 5 to turn on the Lights. The OSM then supplies voltage to the Lights.

If the door is left open, the Lights will stay on for approximately 10 minutes. If the door is closed before the 10 minutes has elapsed, the Courtesy Lights will stay on for approximately 30 seconds. If the Ignition is turned to RUN, voltage is supplied to the Body Computer Module at terminal 1C12, the Ignition 3 Input. The BCM will then command Output Switch Module (OSM) 5 to turn off the Lights through the Data Line.
