FUEL PIPES

All fuel supply and return pipe connections, except at the fuel rail, are made with O-ring connections. In order to tighten these fittings properly, a back-up wrench is required.

CAUTION: The fuel supply, fuel return, and vapor collection pipes are coated welded steel tubing. All of the fuel supply and return pipe connections, except at the fuel rail, are made with O-ring connections. If the connection is not tightened to the correct torque of 27-34 Nm (20-25 lb.ft), the connection may come loose and a fuel leak will occur.

VAPOR PIPES AND HOSES

The vapor pipe extends from the fuel sender assembly to the charcoal canister. It is made of coated welded steel tubing and is connected to the fuel sender and the charcoal canister with fuel resistant rubber hoses.

Connections from the sending unit to the evaporative fuel pipe and from the evaporative pipe to the canister are made with fuel system rubber hose attached with clamps.
