SUBJECT: HARD TOP HEADER TRIM PLUGS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE (MODIFY PLUGS)

MODELS AFFECTED: 1990-1/2 - 1992 ALLANTES

Some 1990-1/2 - 1992 Allantes equipped with a hard top may exhibit a condition where the hard top header trim plugs that cover the latch mechanisms are difficult to remove by hand. To repair this condition modify the plugs using the following service procedure:

1. Remove plugs from hard top.

2. Enlarge the relief slots in the plugs into a "V" shape using side cutters as shown in Figure 1. Enlarge all four relief slots.


3. Install plugs into hard top header and verify ease of removal.

For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6555 at .2 hour.
