E061
Code E61:
Cruise Control Circuit:
DESCRIPTION:
Code E61 will set if the cruise control is on, the brake is not depressed and the PCM/ECM output is high when it should be low, or low when it should be high.
TEST CONDITIONS:
1. Tested continuously.
FAILURE CONDITIONS:
1. Cruise vent solenoid commanded off but feedback is indicating the solenoid is on.
2. Cruise vent solenoid commanded on but feedback is indicating the solenoid is off.
ACTION TAKEN:
1. Cruise control disabled.
2. No service telltale.
NOTES ON FAULT TREE:
1. Checks to see if fault is due to servo or circuit.
2. Check cruise control brake switch. The brake switch supplies power to the servo solenoid through the PCM/ECM. The switch can be tested by checking the voltage drop across the switch during output cycling.
NOTE ON INTERMITTENTS:
Start engine to charge vacuum reservoir. Engine off select PCM/ECM override E.5.7, depress the warmer button and fully apply servo. Manipulate the wiring and connectors and observe the servo. If the servo does not remain applied there is an intermittent open in the circuit.
