Transaxle Position Selector (PRNDL) Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

This diagnostic test monitors throttle position and vehicle speed with the brake applied to detect an action of the driver that could damage the vehicle drivetrain or create an unsafe condition. The primary purpose of this code is to detect an action of the driver that could cause an unsafe condition or damage to the vehicle. This code can be driver induced by depressing the accelerator and brake at the same time. This code will not set if codes E90 or E91 are current.

TEST CONDITIONS:

Codes E21, E22, and E24 not set.

FAILURE CONDITIONS:

1. Brake applied.
2. Transmission in Drive or Reverse.
3. Vehicle speed 5 mph or less.
4. Throttle angel of 65 degrees or greater for 12 seconds.

ACTION TAKEN:

1. Code is set.
2. No SERVICE ENGINE SOON lamp.
