Water Pump Replacement

COOLANT PUMP

Drive Belt Idler And Coolant Pump Pulleys:






REMOVE OR DISCONNECT
1. Negative battery cable.
2. Drain coolant.
3. A/C accumulator from bracket and position out of way.
4. A/C accumulator bracket from wheelhouse.
5. Right cross-car brace.
6. Coolant pump pulley. Apply tension to drive belt to keep pulley from rotating by forcing belt tensioner into drive belt with breaker bar.
7. Accessory drive belt.
8. Coolant pump.
9. Coolant pump gasket and discard.

CLEAN
^ Coolant pump and engine front cover sealing surfaces.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
1. New coolant pump gasket on front cover studs.
2. Coolant pump.

TIGHTEN
^ All coolant pump fasteners to specifications.

3. Coolant pump pulley and install screws finger tight.
4. Right cross-car brace.
5. A/C accumulator bracket.
6. A/C accumulator.
7. Accessory drive belt.

TIGHTEN
^ Coolant pump pulley bolts to 30 Nm using drag of drive belt to hold pulley. If additional drag is needed, attach breaker bar to belt tensioner and apply load to belt while tightening pulley bolts.

8. Refill coolant.
9. Negative battery cable.
