SUBJECT: REAR BRAKE SHOES FREEZE TO DRUMS

MODELS AFFECTED: 1991-1992 DE VILLES AND FLEETWOODS

This bulletin is being revised to include 1992 models. Please discard Service bulletin T-91-93 issued in June, 1991.

Some 1991-1992 DeVille and Fleetwood rear brake shoes may temporarily freeze to the brake drum when the rear brake shoes are damp and the ambient temperature is 32 degrees F or lower. This condition is more likely to occur after the vehicle has been exposed to a car wash or heavy slush and then is parked for an extended time.

To repair this condition replace both left and right brake shoes with the listed part numbers. The shoes have a lower metallic content and will more easily break loose from the brake drum.
