SUBJECT: SHOULDER BELT CONTACTS DRIVER AND RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER'S NECK
MODELS AFFECTED: 1990 ELDORADOS 1990-1991 COUPE DE VILLES AND FLEETWOOD COUPES
This bulletin is being revised. Original bulletin was missing artwork.
Drivers and right front seat passengers of some 1990 Eldorados and 1990-1991 Coupe DeVilles and Fleetwood Coupes may experience a condition of the shoulder belt contacting or rubbing against the neck. This condition may be improved by using the following procedure to install a revised headrest guide loop. Use the following chart to select the correct part number according to color.
Parts are currently available from GMSPO.
Figure 1 - Removal of Guide Loop Mounting Screw:
1. Remove the two headrest guide loop mounting screws and remove and discard the old guide loop. Refer to Figure 1.
Figure 2 - Installation of Guide Loop Mounting Screws:
2. Position the shoulder belt so that it runs through the new guide loop.
3. Mount the new guide loop on the headrest by installing the original guide loop mounting screws. Refer to Figure 2.
4. Install the passenger side guide loop using the above procedure.
For warranty purposes use Labor Operation T6497 at .2 hour.
