Service Procedure

1. Remove upper transaxle oil cooler hose clamp(s) and hose. See callout (A) on illustration. If no hose clamp(s) are on-line, refer to notice below:

Notice:
A small quantity of 1992 and 1993 vehicles were built with a one piece transaxle oil cooler line (no hose clamps). On these vehicles it will be necessary to replace the complete line with Part Number 25623916. Pipe to radiator torque when installing a one piece line is 27 N-m (20 lb.ft). Follow Steps 2, 3, and 4 with Part Number 25623916 substituted, then Steps 5, 8, and 9 to complete the campaign on these vehicles. Retainers/clamp will also require removal and reinstallation when replacing a one piece line.

2. Disconnect upper transaxle cooler pipe from ball check fitting (vertically mounted fitting) at transaxle. See callout (B) on illustration.

3. Remove old upper transaxle oil cooler line.

4. Install new upper transaxle oil cooler line (Part Number 25625874) to transaxle finger tight.

5. Tighten line fitting to ball check fitting to 27 N-m (20 lb.ft.).

6. Assemble hose end to pipe. Install hose until stop on pipe is reached.

7. Install two (2) new hose clamps (Part Number 3524502) on hose at pipe end (install both clamps even if only one was removed). Tighten clamps to 1.8 N-m (16 lb.in.).

8. Fill transaxle to proper level with DEXRON (R) IIE fluid. Start vehicle and check for fluid leaks.

Notice:
Ensure that both the upper and lower transaxle oil cooler lines are securely seated in their designated retainers. See callout (C) on illustration.

9. Install Campaign Completion Label.
