Antenna: Description and Operation
With the ignition switch in "ACCY" or "RUN," voltage is applied through the Radio Fuse to the Radio Receiver. When the radio is turned "ON," a signal is transmitted from the Radio Control Head to the Radio Receiver. When this signal is received, an electronic switch in the Radio Receiver is closed and voltage is applied to the coil of the Antenna Relay. The coil energizes, the Relay contacts are pulled down, and battery voltage is applied through the Ant Fuse and Relay to the Antenna Motor. The Antenna Motor Up Switch provides a path to ground through G200. The Motor operates in the up direction until the Antenna Mast is fully up and the Antenna Motor Up Switch breaks the path ground. The Antenna Relay contacts are spring loaded The contacts move up when the Radio is turned "OFF" and the coil is no longer energized. With the Antenna Mast up, voltage is applied through the Antenna Motor Down Switch to the Motor. The lower Antenna Relay contact provides a path to ground G200. The Antenna Motor operates in the down direction until the Antenna Mast is fully down and Down Switch breaks the path to ground.
