Trunk / Liftgate: Description and Operation

Voltage is applied at all times through the Horn Circuit Breaker and the Trunk Lid Pull-Down Fuse to the Trunk Lid Pull-Down Unit. When the trunk lid lock is turned to "OPEN," the lock hood is unlatched from the Striker Unit. The Striker switches are in position "B." Voltage is applied through the ORN/BLK (60) wire and Switch A to terminal A of the Striker Motor. The Motor is grounded through Switch B, C and the Limit Switch to G400. The Motor drives the Striker Unit up to prepare for closing. When the Striker Unit is fully up, the three Striker Switches move into position "A."
When the trunk lid is lowered, it latches the Striker Unit. Voltage is applied through Switch B to terminal B of the Striker Motor. The motor is grounded through Switch A and the Trunk Lid Latch Switch to G402. The Motor drives the Striker unit down and the trunk lid closes. When Striker Unit is fully down, the Switches move to position "B," and the Limit Switch opens.
