Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVE OR CONNECT
- Negative battery cable.
- Drain coolant.
- Raise vehicle.
- ESC wiring harness connector from ESC knock sensor.
- ESC knock sensor from engine block.

INSTALL OR CONNECT
NOTE: Do not apply any thread sealer to sensor threads. Sensor is coated at factory and applying additional sealer will affect the sensors ability to detect detonation.
- ECS knock sensor into engine block. Tighten to 19 Nm (14 ft lbs).
- ESC wiring harness connector to the ESC knock sensor.
- Lower vehicle.
- Fill coolant.
- Negative battery cable.

LOCATION
Lower LH side of engine, near starter solenoid.
