Headlamp Switch: Service and Repair

Fig. 8 Headlamp Switch Replace:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove lefthand instrument panel insert.
3. Remove three screws attaching light switch to instrument panel, Fig. 8.
4. On vehicles equipped with Cruise Control and Twilight Sentinel, remove two screws retaining Cruise Control switch to instrument panel.
5. Slide Cruise Control switch forward to remove headlamp switch.
6. Disconnect electrical connector from headlamp switch.
7. While depressing rod retaining button, pull switch knob and rod from switch, Fig. 8.
8. Remove nut from switch lens housing, then remove switch.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
