Suspension Control - Computer Command Ride (CCR/SSS)

TEST CONDITIONS:

The control module will monitor the Lateral Acceleration Switch signal for invalid voltage levels.

FAULT CONDITIONS:

If voltage is too high or low, set code.

ACTION TAKEN:

Record Lateral Acceleration Switch error,
Turn on "SERVICE CCR SYSTEM" message,
Disable Lateral Acceleration Switch input until valid voltage level is detected.

DESCRIPTION:

A Lateral Acceleration Switch error occurs when the signal is short circuited to B+ or ground, or the Lateral Acceleration Switch is open circuited or disconnected.

NOTES ON INTERMITTENTS:

Since many intermittent conditions are caused at electrical connections, diagnosis of intermittent conditions should include a visual and physical inspection of the connectors involved in the circuit. These connectors should be examined before replacing any components of the system. Some causes of connector problems are:

1. Corrosion or other foreign matter on the terminal mating surfaces which could insulate the terminals.
2. Incomplete mating of the connector halves.
3. Damaged terminals or connector bodies.
