Radio/Stereo: Service and Repair
LESS CRT
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove radio trim plate from instrument cluster bezel.
3. Twist lefthand A/C vent to remove.
4. Remove seven screws (six phillips and one Torx) securing instrument panel trim plate.
5. Loosen lower two mounting nuts under radio (top nuts do not have to be loosened), then pull radio away from instrument panel.
6. Disconnect electrical connectors and antenna lead, then remove radio assembly.
7. Reverse procedure to install.
WITH CRT
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Pull shift indicator trim plate up and out slowly. Place selector in neutral if necessary.
3. Remove indicator lamp bulbs.
4. Remove lumbar/bolster control switch, if equipped.
5. Remove outer console trim plate.
6. Remove attaching screws securing graphic equalizer and tape mounting plate.
7. Remove mounting plate.
8. Disconnect electrical connector from tape deck and graphic equalizer.
9. Pull tape holder out of console bucket.
10. Remove screws at bottom of console compartment liner and screws at top of liner, then pull liner out.
11. Remove nuts attaching console to floor pan.
12. Pull console upward and slide back toward rear seat.
13. Pull radio remote chassis out to the right.
14. Disconnect radio chassis electrical connectors.
15. Reverse procedure to install.
