Troubleshooting Hints
1. If both coolant fans do not operate, check fusible link L by operating the horn.
2. If there is also a problem with A/C compressor clutch engagement, check coolant fan fuse 1 in the underhood relay center.
3. If both coolant fans operate in low speed with ignition switch OFF, check for a short to battery voltage on circuit 532. If circuit is satisfactory, replace coolant fan relay B.
4. If both coolant fans operate in high speed but not in low speed, check the 533 circuit between coolant fan relay C and S161 for an open. Also check continuity of coolant fan relay C between terminals 1 and 3.
5. For a continuous low speed operation with ignition switch in RUN only, check circuit 535 for a short to ground. If circuit is satisfactory, problem is ECM related.
6. If puller fan runs continuously with ignition switch in ON or OFF position, check circuit 533 for a short to battery voltage If circuit is satisfactory, replace coolant fan relay D.
7. If puller fan run continuously with ignition switch in RUN position only, check circuit 536 for a short to ground. If circuit is satisfactory, problem is ECM related.
8. If a no low speed, no high speed puller fan condition exists, check circuit 533 between S161 and puller fan for an open. Check circuit 804 between puller fan and S112 for and open. Check puller fan and terminal contacts.
9. If a no low speed or pusher fan runs in high speed when in system test ES08, check circuit 533 for a short to ground between pusher fan and coolant fan relay C. If circuit is satisfactory, replace coolant fan relay C.
