CCDIC Problem (Chart C-3)

Chart C-3:

Display Circuit:

DESCRIPTION:

This chart is used because the DIC display reads "SYSTEM PROBLEM". This symptom is the result of a data line problem. Since the odometer display was normal, the only failure modes possible are opens in CKT 800 between the IPC and CCDIC and between the BCM and CCDIC, or a defective CCDIC.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:

1. This step checks to see if there is an open in the data line between the IPC and the ALDL. The IPC should display all zeros after crank when the data line is grounded.

2. This step checks to see if an open exists between the ALDL and the CCDIC.

3. If the ALDL cover is not providing a good jumper between pin L and M, this will provide an open in the data line circuit. If the jumper is good, the data line to the CCDIC is complete, and the problem must be with the CCDIC.
