Instrument Cluster Replacement

Fig. 12 Instrument Cluster Removal. 1989-91 Eldorado & Seville:

1. On models with airbag, disarm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG DEACTIVATION Failure to do so may result in accidental deployment of airbag, possibly causing personal injury.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Remove A/C duct and radio trim plate from instrument cluster bezel.
4. Remove seven screws securing instrument panel cluster from housing.
5. Remove digital display and warning lamp lenses, and the trip odometer reset button, Fig. 12.
6. Remove two screws securing cluster, then pull cluster from instrument panel socket.
7. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Ensure electrical connector pins are properly aligned when cluster is pressed into instrument panel.
b. After all work has been completed, rearm airbag as outlined under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG ACTIVATION
