B332

BCM Code B332:

BCM Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
Code B332 will set if the ignition is "ON" and the BCM is not able to exchange data with the EBTCM (if any other communication codes are stored along with B332, see the chart on Multiple Intermittent Codes). hen this is the only communication code stored, the problem must be one of the following:

^ An open in CKT 800H between the EBTCM and the BCM.
^ An open or short in the EBTCM power or ground circuits.
^ A faulty EBTCM.

During the time the failure is resent, no EBTCM diagnostic information will be available for display. The red brake telltale will be illuminated on the IPC and the Antilock Disabled and Traction Disabled messages will be displayed on the CCDIC. Also, while in the service diagnostic mode, this code will remain active, always checking for proper operation.

TEST DESCRIPTION: Test numbers refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.

1. If multiple codes are present, a data line fault is indicated and should be diagnosed using the preceding multiple communication code chart.
2. This step checks for an open on the 800 circuit to the EBTCM. Normal voltage should be fluctuating between .1 and 5 volts.
3. If the fault is not the 800 circuit, the problem is due to a power or ground failure in the EBTCM or a faulty EBTCM.

NOTES ON FAULT TREE:
If Code B332 shows as "HISTORY" without any other codes, then check the ignition feed, ground, and data circuits for intermittent faults. If other data codes are stored, refer to "Multiple Intermittent Codes" in this section.
