Park Lights (export)
CIRCUIT OPERATIONPark Lights Control
The Park Lights are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM). The BCM turns on the Park Lights by energizing the Park Light Relay or the Park Light Redundant Relay. The Park Light Redundant Relay is only used to keep the Park Lights from turning off during crank.
The BCM uses the following inputs for Park Lights control:
^ (Park Lights Switch) When the Park Lights Switch is pressed a Park Lights on or off request is sent to the BCM from the Headlight Switch through the lighting data line. The first time the Park Lights Switch is pressed an on request is sent to the BCM. The next time that the Park Lights Switch is pressed an off request is sent to the BCM. The requests will keep alternating each time the switch is pressed.
^ (Headlight Status) When headlight operation is requested from the Headlight Switch the BCM will also activate the Park Lights.
^ (Front Fog Light Status) When a Front Fog Light on request is received by the BCM through the lighting data line the BCM will turn on the Front Fog Lights and the Park Lights.
^ (Twilight Sentinel) The BCM will turn on the Park Lights during Twilight Sentinel operation.
^ (Daytime Running Lights DRL option T61) The BCM turns on the Park Lights when DRL is active.
^ (Lights Off Switch) The BCM will turn off all exterior lights whenever the Lights Off Switch is pressed. When the Lights Off Switch is pressed, an all lights off request is sent to the BCM through the lighting data line from the Headlight Switch.
The BCM turns on the Park Lights by grounding the coil of the Park Light Relay at terminal 3C10 (the park light relay output) through CKT 921. The BCM will keep the Park Lights on during crank (if the Park Lights are already on) by grounding the Park Light Redundant Relay coil at terminal 2A9 (the lo beam/redundant relay output) through CKT 911. When energized the Park Light Redundant Relay grounds the Park Light Relay coil through CKTs 921 and 1504. After crank the BCM will return to controlling the Park Lights Relay at terminal 3C10 (the park light relay output).
Park Lights Power
When the Park Light Relay is energized by the BCM battery voltage is applied to the Park Lights through Maxi Fuse 4, CKT 1442, the relay contacts, CKT 924, Trunk Compartment Fuse Block Fuses A11 and A13, and CKT 9.
