Apply Brake to Shift

Brake Switch Circuit:

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
The BCM monitors the park input "3D8" which receives ignition voltage through the transaxle range switch during park. The BCM also monitors the stop light switch input 3D7 which receives voltage through the normally open BTSI/Cruise Brake Switch. When the BTSI/Cruise Brake Switch is open (brake not applied), the BCM will detect 0 volt. If the BCM detects ignition voltage on pin "3D8" (vehicle in park) simultaneously for greater than 25 seconds, it will send the "APPLY BRAKE TO SHIFT" message to the CCDIC.

TEST CONDITION(S):
1. Ignition-3 "ON."
2. Message not disabled through EEPROM option bit.

FAILURE CONDITION(S):
1. Vehicle in park for greater than 25 seconds. Ignition voltage at "3D8."
2. Brake not applied. 0 voltage at "3D7."

ACTION TAKEN:
1. Display the APPLY BRAKE TO SHIFT' message on the CCDIC.

DIAGNOSIS:
