SUBJECT:
ROAD SENSING SUSPENSION (RSS) CODE(S) S060-S063, S070-S073 DIAGNOSIS (SEAL RSS CONNECTOR)
MODELS AFFECTED:
1993 ALLANTES
Some 1993 Allantes built before breakpoint 126800 may experience Road Sensing Suspension (RSS) accelerometer or position sensor fault code (S060-S063, S070-S073). On cars built before the breakpoint, begin diagnosis of the fault code(s) by checking for corrosion on the female terminals in the sensor connector. If corrosion is found on a terminal(s), perform the following repair procedure:
1. Replace the corroded terminal.
2. Seal the rear of the connector body indicated in Figure 1 with RTV.
3. Check remaining (eight total) accelerometer and position sensor connectors for corroded terminal(s). Replace terminals as required.
4. Removal of the connector TPA is REQUIRED to properly seal the rear of the connector body with RTV as indicated in Figure 1.
If corrosion is not found on terminal(s) during diagnosis, perform steps 3 and 4 to check terminals and seal the rear of all accelerometer and position sensor connector bodies. If additional diagnosis is required, refer to Section 3G of the 1993 Allant6 Service Information Manual.
For warranty purposes, use Labor Operation T6699 at .3 hour to repair a corroded terminal. Use Labor Operation T6700 at .9 hour to seal all connector bodies with RTV.
