Code A050 is designed to disengage the A/C compressor clutch in the event that coolant temperature (ACP data parameter AD21) exceeds 126°C (258°F) calibrated. Once the code has been set, it will remain current until the coolant temperature falls below 118°C (240°F). The ACP receives coolant temperature information from the PCM over serial data. While the A050 is current the Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) will display 'ENGINE HOT - A/C COMPRESSOR OFF' warning.
