P075

Circuit Description

This diagnostic test compares the vehicle speed to the transaxle input speed (turbine speed). If a 4 mph vehicle speed change is not accompanied by a 16.4 rpm transaxle input speed change within the next second, Code P075 will set. If the failure occurs 10 times in 10 seconds, the code will remain current for the entire ignition cycle.

Test Condition(s)

1. Codes P021, P022, P027, P056 and P090 not set.
2. TCC brake switch not applied.
3, Traction control not active.
4. Two seconds since key 'ON'.
5. Throttle position 15.7 degrees or greater.
6. Engine speed 500 rpm or greater.

Failure Condition(s)

Vehicle speed changes by 4 MPH or more in 12.5 milliseconds.

Action Taken

1. PCM turns 'ON' the 'SERVICE ENGINE SOON' MIL.
2. PCM disables TCC.
3. PCM freezes transaxle in current gear.
4. If test and failure conditions are true 10 times within 10 seconds, Code P075 will remain current for the ignition cycle.
