Fuel Door: Description and Operation

For access to the fuel filler nozzle the fuel filler door must be released. Pressing the Fuel Filler Door Release Switch applies power to the Fuel Door Release Solenoid causing it to energize. When the solenoid is energized it moves to allow the door to spring open slightly from its closed position. If a malfunction should occur with the electric fuel door release, the fuel filler door can be released manually by pulling the fuel door cable handle in the trunk.
