Some vehicles may exhibit etching, stress cracking or discoloration due to exposure to chemical solvents or cleaners that react adversely with lamp materials. This condition may occur when improper cleaners are used on the lamps themselves or for cleaning adjoining surfaces (for reasons such as emblem replacement).

1. For proper cleaning of lens surfaces of all exterior lamps, use only:

- Mild soap and water.

- Varnish makers and painters (VM&P) naphtha.

IMPORTANT:
VM&P naphtha is the only type of naphtha that can be used for this procedure. Other types of naphtha could damage the lens surface.

2. When cleaning surfaces for adhesive emblem or molding attachment:

- Use only the above listed cleaners in the vicinity of exterior lamps.

- Lamps should be shielded from cleaners/solvents.

NOTE:
Cleaners or solvents MUST NOT come In contact with lens or lamp housing weld joints. The lamps can be wiped, but DO NOT SATURATE WITH CLEANING SOLUTION.
